Let Them Eat Bubble Baths

Wed, 07/10/2019 - 10:07

There's a lot of talk around about self care in the arts isn't there?

Headlines of How to avoid burn out as an artist, or Creative burn out is inevitable, 10 tips on how to beat it etc

Important stuff for sure; I've gained alot from finding a meditation practice and realising that I need to retreat from the city and swim in the sea every few weeks.

MULCH! Testimonial- Creative Block- Busting

Tue, 10/23/2018 - 12:37

Last month I took MULCH! on the road to work with an incredible artist who was experiencing major creative blocks. She has written an insightful and powerful account of our time together which I publish with her permission.

I am intensely proud of the work we did together and the bravery, passion and humour in which she approached the work. It's safe to say STUFF SHIFTED and I am happy to have played a part in this development. I can't wait to see what she does next!

Over to Julia....

A re-opening

No Pantomime Hierarchies: A setting of boundaries

Mon, 10/22/2018 - 11:31

During the early process of making I'm Bitter About Glitter we thought a lot about boundaries. It was essential to me in making a true, collaborative and authentic piece that reflected and supported both artists- one 41, and one 9.

On taking a break and having a think

Wed, 08/15/2018 - 09:11

Below is an edit of a recent (unsuccessful) application that I found whilst clearing space on my computer to make space for cat photos. I thought it might be useful to share as I remember it was quite a good one to write, a kind of- Fuck it-I’m going to be myself in this one kind of one. I find myself at a point where I can’t face writing another (unsuccessful) application and decided a while ago to quietly take myself outside of the game for a little bit, have a little breather. It’s nice over here by the way, come and say hi sometime!

THE BATTLE OF THE BEIGE

Wed, 01/03/2018 - 22:42

Felix says... The Beige-ster comes into our house and paints all our walls beige, gets rid of our colourful clothes and makes everyone dull. He’s like a giant beige balloon that floats about bumping into stuff and when we burst him he makes this noise THHHHHHHHWWWWFFFFFFFFFFFFPPPPPPPPFFFFFFFFFFFF (Felix  jumps around the room impersonating a let-go  balloon)
